I’m Kaden Wilson and I have been an engineer at Zig Zibit since 2011. I was born and raised here in Raleigh and graduated with a BS in Industrial Design from North Carolina State University. When I’m not programming the CNC machine or making setup instructions for our exhibits, I’m working on something with wheels. I spend most of my time (I don’t have a TV!) wrenching on my motorcycle, car, go-cart, skateboards, bikes, RC cars, you name it. Building and breaking machines has taught me a lot about what works and what doesn’t when bringing a new idea to life.

The NCSU College of Design is where I picked up the software, fabrication, and management skills necessary to thrive at Zig Zibit. During my time in school I held positions as a woodshop supervisor, product designer, fabricator, and graphic designer. I learned about working with clients to design products that fit their needs, within real life constraints. I started a long board skateboard company to bring students top level, custom equipment at an affordable price. Working with new people with new ideas and making them reality is really exciting to me. I love the exhibit industry because even large scale projects can transform from dreams into reality in such a small amount of time. It’s very exciting to have a rough design come to me, work out the details, and begin construction out in the shop immediately. The hands-on, custom, one-off projects are always amazing.
